Position: Ultrasound Technologist
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11012
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week
Contract: Full-time, Contract
On-Call: Occasional
Weekends/Holidays: None
Compensation:
Local: $2,000–$2,200/week
Travel: $2,500–$2,600/week
Position Overview: The Ultrasound Technologist will work within a breast imaging setting performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to support physicians in evaluating and treating patients. The role involves patient interaction, image acquisition, equipment care, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and assist in diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Prepare patients for exams and explain procedures clearly.
Operate, adjust, and maintain ultrasound equipment and imaging systems.
Take appropriate safety precautions for patient and staff protection.
Ensure examination rooms are properly stocked and organized.
Assist in training new team members as needed.
Capture and transfer images to PACS for physician interpretation.
Coordinate scheduling, documentation, and patient flow as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program.
RDMS certification required.
Minimum of 2 years of related education, training, or equivalent clinical coursework.
BLS (CPR) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
2–5 years of clinical experience in diagnostic ultrasound, preferably breast imaging.
Skills & Competencies:
Skilled in ultrasound image acquisition, positioning, and basic interpretation.
Knowledge of patient care standards, infection control, and emergency procedures.
Experience with EMR systems (EPIC preferred) and digital imaging archiving/PACS.
Strong communication, professionalism, and patient education skills.
Commitment to continuing education and maintaining credentialing requirements.
