Position title: Public Relations Coordinator

Job Summary: This position is responsible for writing and content development, supporting public relations efforts and providing administrative support for communications initiatives. Responsibilities: Writing and Content Development Draft and edit press releases, media advisories, op-eds, and letters to editors to promote Ozarks Food Harvests mission. Write and edit core communication pieces for fundraising, including: o Harvest Time quarterly newsletters for financial donors, food donors and volunteers. o First Monday Memo monthly newsletter for major supporters and key community leaders o Food bank handouts, one-sheets, backgrounders, presentation materials, etc. Interview staff, neighbors, volunteers and donors to gather testimonials that highlight Ozarks Food Harvests impact. Assist with website content updates to ensure messaging and branding alignment. Collaborate with staff to ensure messaging and branding are consistent across all communication channels. Public Relations and Administrative Support Track media coverage and provide weekly reports to the Director of Communications. Maintain an up-to-date media list to secure coverage. Assist in scheduling interviews, drafting talking points and preparing background materials for media interactions. Maintain news release calendar to promote Ozarks Food Harvests mission and initiatives. Monitor Ozarks Food Harvest and Feeding Americas activities to identify possible stories. Digital Media Collaborate with the social media team to ensure alignment between PR efforts and digital content. Assist in coordinating video projects and securing local PSAs with media professionals. Take and manage photographs for PR use. Event Communications Work with event staff on major fundraising and awareness events as needed such as Hungerthon, Hunger Action Month, Check Out Hunger, and cause marketing campaigns. Provide communication support as required for success of events. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in public relations, communication, journalism or a related field. Proven writing skills with knowledge of AP Style and demonstrated ability to write compelling PR materials. Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects. Experience with Microsoft Office, email platforms and social media tools. Must be physically able to lift 25-50 pounds and set up for events/press activities. Expected to work outside normal business hours when needed for media opportunities and events. Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing WordPress or other CMS platforms. Experience securing media coverage with journalists. Familiarity with photography, video editing or graphic design for media projects.
