Position Summary:
Provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching. Staff Pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patient’s drug therapies and provide drug information. Staff Pharmacists supervise and direct supportive staff. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director.

QualificationsRequirements:
0–1 years of experience in Pharmacy required; 1-3 years hospital experience preferred.
Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately. Ability to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff. Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule. Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests. Maintains competency in unique aspects of drug therapy for patients for which they provide care, including factors related to patients of all age groups to include neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
Knowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy.
Fosters a team environment by providing orientation and training to new team members.
Ability to manage a diverse workforce and communicate effectively (verbal and written).
Software skills using MS Office, proficiency with MS Word, Excel and some Access required.
Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis reports (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotics access, etc.).
Financial Tracking experience.
Certified Antimicrobial Stewardship and annual continuing education competencies. Active involvement in the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee and participation in corporate antimicrobial stewardship meetings is required.
