Job Title: Junior Concept Designer

Reports to: Concept Design Lead

Department: Concept

FLSA Status: Hourly $35-$45 per hour DOE

Position Summary

The Junior Concept Designer will work within regional teams to see projects through from initial concept to production under the direct supervision of the Studio Design Lead. The Jr Concept Designer will be required to produce deliverables for multiple projects at one time.

Minimum Skills Or Experience Requirements

• Ability to read and create architectural floor plans in AutoCAD
• 1+ year experience working in Industrial, Furniture Design or related field.
• Bachelors in Industrial Design, Furniture Design or related field.
• Knowledgeable in furniture construction.
• Willingness to learn new details and processes.
• Basic working knowledge of 3ds Max, Octane, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using Solidworks, not a must, but preferable.
• Ability to manage your time across many projects at once.
• Capable of meeting tight deadlines.
• Enjoy working in a creative and collaborative environment.
• Passion for working hard and creating quality products.

Essential Duties

• Produce concept sketches for design development.
• Produce part specific quote sketches for pricing purposes.
• Compile accurate quote based on vendor pricing.
• Assist in the development of products from ideation through 3d deliverables.
• Source material for upcoming projects.
• Build/maintain vendor relationships while quoting projects.
• 3D model and create photorealistic renderings of developed product.
• Collaborate with Production and Design Leads to generate most effective design solutions and accurate pricing.
• Order and label samples for won projects at production kick off.
• Track progress on active projects on ERP system to ensure deliverables are always submitted on time.
• Inspect production runs to maintain design intent and finish.
• Other duties assigned by Design Leads.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

• Frequent hours of standing, late hours and weekend work occasionally required. Some domestic travel.
