Naveris, a commercial stage precision oncology company based near Boston, MA, is looking for a HR & Finance Intern to help us deliver on our Mission to develop novel diagnostics that transform cancer detection and improve patient outcomes.  Our flagship test, NavDx, is a breakthrough blood-based DNA test for HPV-induced cancers, clinically proven and already trusted by tens of thousands of patients and physicians across the U.S.

Opportunity

We are seeking an Intern – Human Resources & Finance Support to join our team. This individual will play a key role in supporting critical business functions across HR, Finance, Recruiting, and Office Administration. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual looking to gain broad exposure to day-to-day operations within a growing biotech company. This role is an on-site position, based in our Waltham, MA office.

Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the VP of Finance and Administration, you will support a variety of operational and financial functions across the company. Duties include:

  • Assist with tracking and updating recruiting progress for upcoming hires
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes in collaboration with the People Team
  • Help roll out and monitor hourly employee processes including timecard tracking in Gusto
  • Update and audit PTO records and support benefits-related tasks such as HSA tracking
  • Support office-related needs such as processing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Assist with reimbursement-related administrative tasks
  • Help prepare and summarize materials for board reporting and other ad hoc finance needs
  • Support the Finance team with daily and monthly accounting activities, including:
  • Logging daily deposits into internal trackers
  • Downloading and organizing lockbox materials
  • Booking deposit transactions in QuickBooks
  • Assisting with Brex transaction mapping and receipt follow-up
  • Helping compile and roll forward month-end close binders and checklists
  • Reconciling Brex transactions
  • Preparing departmental P&Ls and supporting BvA reporting
  • Attending internal finance and accounting meetings to gain insight into operations

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive)
  • Willingness to learn new systems (QuickBooks, Gusto, Brex – training provided)
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a strong desire to learn
  • Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week on average, with flexibility to increase to up to 40 hours during periods of higher need
