Under the general direction of the Manager of the Environmental Services Branch, oversees the management of the CEQA & NEPA Support Section that includes the following units: CEQA & NEPA Technical Support; Compliance, Permitting, and Mitigation; Cultural and Historic Resources; and Hazardous Materials and Environmental Assessments. Plan, organize, and direct work to provide environmental compliance services and documentation; provide expertise in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) policies and procedures. Develop environmental documents for the Department’s continued operation, maintenance, and new facilities construction in support of the State Water Project (SWP). As a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team, the Branch provides comprehensive and specialized environmental regulatory compliance services to support the Department’s wide range of activities. This position works collaboratively and in close coordination with the Environmental Assessments and Permitting Section and other program managers to ensure multi-disciplinary support amongst the Branch, Division, and Department, and with federal, State, local agencies, tribal representatives, and partners.
