Job Description

CFS Brands is seeking to hire a Embedded Electrical Engineer reporting to the Director, New Product Development for ALL CFS locations. This position requires an analytical and logical person with strong leadership skills to collaborate with Manufacturing, Tooling, Marketing and Sales. This position oversees all tactical R&D functions, keeping safety, quality, delivery and cost as highest priorities.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

• Responsible for assigning projects, overseeing research and development activities and traveling to various Carlisle companies and/or suppliers to assist with R&D functions. Up to 30% travel required.
• Responsible for overseeing and approving New Product Setup, Engineering Change Notices, purchase requisitions, etc.
• Primary innovation and technical interface to the commercial, product management, and supply base in the areas of electro-mechanical technologies
• Develop new product innovations, especially in the area of electronics, induction, power transfer, and wireless communication applications, for all product categories.
• Work with Legal Counsel on company IP / patent submittal
• Develop electronic hardware and software platforms.
• Optimize existing electronics designs in several product lines.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating testing activities and supporting documentation.
• Leverage external variable engineering organizations as needed where capacity and skill sets are required.
• Recommend electrical / mechanical product changes that improve performance, cost, or quality.
• Manage budgets and projects to be on-time, with high-quality and top-performance.
• Work with outside vendors to assist with technical specifications and communicating product requirements as needed.
• Drive Agency (CE/UL/FCC) Approvals and Certifications
• Conduct competitive benchmarking across all product categories.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering required.
• Master's Degree in a related discipline preferred.
• 3+ year(s) in Electronics Engineering.
• 1+ year(s) of previous Manufacturing and/or Distribution experience.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Experience in project management, development of timelines, and identifying critical milestones
• Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills
• Experience leading R&D programs from concept to commercialization
• Driven to achieve great results throughout the design and development process
• Passionate about the end user experience and ability to translate these needs into compelling design
• Ability to consistently earn and maintain the trust of teammates and external customers
• Able to bring vitality to the group innovation process
• Ability to work very effectively with limited direction on multiple high priority programs
• Ability to learn and teach new technologies and skill sets
