QISG is seeking a strategic and self-driven Category Manager to lead sourcing efforts for monopole and lattice towers supporting electric transmission, distribution, and substation projects. This role plays a key part in optimizing supplier relationships, cost structures, and risk management for structural steel components. Experience in telecom tower procurement is highly transferable and encouraged. 
This is a full time position, located in our Houston-based HQ (in the Energy Corridor). 

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for monopole and lattice towers, including supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and framework agreements. 
• Build and manage supplier relationships, including performance reviews, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. 
• Drive cost optimization through market analysis, benchmarking, and data-driven negotiations. 
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, construction, operations, finance, and legal to align sourcing with project goals and technical requirements. 
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts by integrating new tower designs into the supply chain. 
• Monitor market trends, supplier capacity, and industry risks to ensure business continuity and supply chain resilience. 
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with commercial and legal standards. 
• Lead supplier site visits and evaluate production capabilities, delivery performance, and quality systems. 
• Analyze spend data and supplier performance metrics to identify savings and efficiency opportunities. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field. 
• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management (preferably with structural steel, utility infrastructure, or telecom towers). 
• Strong background in supplier negotiations, cost analysis, and contract management. 
• Proficiency with Excel, ERP systems (JD Edwards preferred), Coupa, and/or Salesforce. 
• Engineering background and experience with heavy commodities is a plus. 
• Able to work independently, influence stakeholders, and drive change across functions. 
• Valid driver’s license with ability to travel up to 25%/. 

Preferred Experience: 

• Background in monopole or lattice tower procurement for utility or telecom sectors. 
• Knowledge of supply chain risk planning and supplier development. 
• Comfortable navigating complex data sets and presenting actionable insights. 
• Skilled at building long-term, performance-based supplier partnerships.
