Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to help manage financial records for our clients. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial data, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate is proactive, meticulous, and able to manage sensitive financial information with professionalism and discretion. You will work closely with the management team to provide valuable financial insights and contribute to overall financial stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately categorize daily transactions and maintain financial records in clients' books.
- Generate and deliver monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements and Balance Sheets, using QuickBooks Online and other relevant tools as needed.
- Maintain ledgers, balance sheets, income statements, and trial balances.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and precise payments and invoicing.
- Handle payroll functions, including wage calculations, deductions, and payroll tax filings.
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
- Prepare financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for management review.
- Stay up to date with financial regulations and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Assist with audits by organizing and providing required documentation.
- Monitor cash flow and report on financial health to senior management.
- Record transactions and prepare adjusting journal entries as necessary.
- Collaborate with tax preparers, accountants, and financial advisors to meet year-end obligations and complex financial needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and other accounting software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with management and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax laws and compliance regulations.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Bookkeeping certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, QuickBooks Certification) are a plus.
Work Environment:
- Primarily remote with some required in-office presence during the months of January through April.
- May require occasional meetings or client visits as needed.
